We’re a small group of passionately spiritual seekers who wanted to bring modern digital tools — including today’s AI — to our own daily practice. The honest motivation: we have a long way still to evolve. We built Sohamlab to help ourselves get there, and to share the same toolset with anyone else walking the same path.

Rooted in the Vedic stream

That’s where our practice is grounded. We draw, with respect, from other living traditions where they point at the same moves. The product is the synthesis — a daily practice and a measurement loop we use ourselves first.

The founders use Sohamlab as our own daily practice tool — the same Aspire / Reject / Surrender cycle, the same Karmic Compass, the same Companion you would be using. If a feature does not survive contact with our own months of daily practice, it does not ship. That is the test. We are users as much as anyone.

Why we charge for this

A structured, ethical business — not a cult, not "free with strings".

Spirituality has been made a business — sometimes in healthy ways, often not. Free offerings can hide manipulative funnels. "Donations welcome" can mask cult dynamics. "Pay what you want" can become "pay or you're not committed". We chose a different path: be honest about being a business.

Sohamlab is a structured ethical company. Prices are visible. Promises are bounded — no enlightenment-on-demand, no manifestation guarantees. You can leave at any time and your data leaves with you. There is no initiation. No "next level" that costs more than you can afford. No community pressure. Just a tool, clearly priced, clearly delivered.

Today — what your subscription actually covers

Infrastructure costs. AI providers (Anthropic, Google, OpenAI), encrypted cloud hosting, engineering time. None of it is free; pretending it was would be the lie.
The team that builds this. Fair pay for the engineers, editors, and practitioners shipping the lab. They have lives and rents and families — same as you. Working at Sohamlab should be a rewarding career, not a cause.

A plan — what we'd like to do as we become stable

We want to be clear: the items below are plans, not commitments. We're an alpha-stage product. Until the business is sustainable, none of this happens. We say it openly so you know the direction we'd like to grow into — and so we can be held to it later, by you.

Research — into measuring practice states honestly, validating the Karmic Genome against lived outcomes, instrumenting states of consciousness in ways current culture lacks the tools for.
Funding institutions — long-form retreat infrastructure, contemplative-science teaching, the kind of thing modern spiritual culture has neglected because nobody has been willing to pay for it.
Better tools for the team — and meaningful equity for the people who build this through the hard middle years.

It is also a test for us. If you don't pay, our tools aren't being used — and that tells us something fundamental we'd want to examine, openly, rather than hide behind a "spiritual cause" rhetoric. Sustainability and accountability go together.
